A baseball cut steak is the upper part of a top sirloin steak; it is rounded and thick. The meat fills out slightly as it cooks, which enhances its ball-like appearance. Here’s a J&R baseball cut steak recipe for you to try:

  • 4 six ounce top sirloin baseball cut steaks (or similar cut)
  • 1 Tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 Tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 Tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 Tablespoons cider vinegar
  • 2 Tablespoons cooking sherry
  • 1 Tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme
  • ¾ teaspoon black pepper

1.       Place steaks in gallon Ziplock bag or baking dish.

2.       In small bowl, whisk together all the remaining ingredients. Pour over steaks, turning to coat evenly.

3.       Chill for at least 6 hours, turning occasionally to redistribute marinade.

4.       When ready to cook, heat your grill to medium high.

5.       Remove steaks from marinade and place on hot grill ( discard the marinade.) Cook about 4 minutes on each side or until desired doneness.
